Arik Armstead: Breaking News

Armstead compiled 28 tackles (13 solo), including 5.5 sacks, plus one forced fumble across 16 regular-season appearances in 2025. Armstead will continue holding down a starting role at defensive tackle as Jacksonville prepares to make a hopeful playoff run, beginning with Sunday's wild-card round matchup against the Bills. He has one more year remaining on his contract with the Jaguars, though the team has a potential 'out' in his deal this offseason, albeit at the cost of $17.1 million in dead cap.

Armstead (hand) is active for Sunday's game against the Colts. The veteran defensive tackle has been officially cleared to return Sunday from a one-game absence due to a hand injury. Armstead's return means Maason Smith will revert to a rotational role on the Jaguars' defensive line.

Armstead (hand) is questionable to play against the Colts on Sunday, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports. Armstead was unable to play against the Titans in Week 13 due to a hand injury. The injury limited Armstead's practice participation all week, and his status for Sunday's game may not be officially known until approximately 90 minutes before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff, when the Jaguars announce their list of inactive players. Maason Smith would likely start alongside DaVon Hamilton at defensive tackle if Armstead is not cleared to play.
