Westover signed his exclusive-rights free-agent tender with the Patriots on Tuesday. It was merely a formality for the 26-year-old lead blocker. Westover has touched the ball one time in 20 career regular-season games and has logged 246 offensive snaps in that span.
The Patriots are tendering Westover, who was an exclusive rights free agent, Mark Daniels of MassLive reports Monday. Westover will be under contract with the team for 2026 once he signs his tender. He is used almost exclusively as a blocker at fullback and tight end in addition to contributing on special teams. Westover has one catch in 20 regular-season NFL games.
Westover (ankle) is active for Sunday's contest against the Dolphins. Westover was dealing with an ankle injury at practice throughout the week, but he'll now ultimately be able to give it a go in Week 18. The fullback hasn't logged a single carry this season, but his value is evident as a blocker in the team's rushing attack.
