John Ridgeway: Everything you need to know

Ridgeway signed a two-year, $6.2 million contract with the Saints on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Ridgeway was limited to four appearances in 2025 by a shoulder injury, notching 11 tackles (three solo) for the Saints. In four NFL seasons split between the Commanders and Saints, Ridgeway has contributed 81 tackles (36 solo). He'll likely continue to fill a rotational role along the interior of the defensive line for New Orleans.

Ridgeway (shoulder) was activated from injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houstonreports. Ridgeway has been sidelined all season after suffering a pectoral injury in mid-August. He has been practicing in full for most of October and should be set for a Week 8 season debut against Tampa Bay.

Ridgeway (shoulder) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Bears. Ridgeway has been practicing in full for the last two weeks, but he still hasn't been deemed ready to return and remains on injured reserve. He appears to have a good chance to return in Week 8 against the Buccaneers and should have a rotational role along the defensive line.
