Davis and the Browns agreed to terms Friday on a one-year contract worth up to $3 million, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Davis was selected by the 49ers in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft and spent his first four years in the NFL with San Francisco, but he will now call Cleveland home. He is coming off a career year in 2025, finishing with 28 tackles (10 solo), including 0.5 sacks and three pass defenses across 17 regular-season games. Davis figures to serve in a rotational role on the Browns' interior defensive line behind Mason Graham and Maliek Collins (quadriceps).

Kalia Davis: Breaking News
New career high of 28 tackles
Davis finished the 2025 regular season with 28 tackles (10 solo), including 0.5 sacks, and three passes defended across 17 games played. The third-year lineman appeared in every game for the 49ers this season after combining for just 16 games played over his previous two years in the league. Davis finished the season as a starter while setting a new high-water mark in combined tackles with 28. The UCF product will attempt to take another step forward in the final year of his rookie contract with the 49ers in 2026.
Will play Week 10
Davis (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Rams, Briana Jeannel of the 49ers' official site reports. Davis popped up on Thursday's injury report due to an ankle injury, but he has been given the green light to play in Sunday's NFC West clash after going through pregame warmups. He has accumulated six tackles (three solo) and one pass defense over his last three games.
