The Falcons elevated Kareem (undisclosed) from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Tori McElhaney of the team's official site reports. Kareem, who signed with the Falcons' practice squad in late August, is being elevated for the first time this season. He spent most of the 2023 regular season on the Bears' practice squad but did play in Week 8 against the Chargers, during which he registered one solo tackle and one pass defense while playing 24 snaps on defense. Kareem will give the Falcons additional depth at linebacker for Sunday's game against New Orleans after JD Bertrand was ruled out due to a concussion.
Kareem (undisclosed) reached an injury settlement with the Bears on Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The settlement gives Kareem a chance to play in 2024 if he lands with another team. The defensive end appeared in one game and on 24 defensive snaps for Chicago in 2023, recording one tackle and a pass defensed.
Kareem did not suit up for the first two games of the season before picking up a hip injury ahead of the Bears' Week 3 matchup against the Chiefs. He was placed on IR on Sept. 25 and is now set to make his 2023 debut Sunday against the Chargers. His last full season came in his rookie year in 2020 with the Bengals, when he registered 19 tackles including one sack in 16 games.
