The Chargers signed Grimm to a reserve/future contract Tuesday. Grimm signed with the Chargers in late April as an undrafted free agent and spent the majority of the season on the practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp. He'll be part of the Chargers' 90-man roster once the offseason begins Feb. 9, which will allow him to participate in OTAs and minicamp and make a good impression on the coaching staff before the start of training camp in July.
Los Angeles signed Grimm to the practice squad Tuesday. Grimm spent the regular season bouncing on and off the Chargers' practice squad, and he now rejoins the unit as Los Angeles prepares for Sunday's wild-card round matchup against the Patriots. An undrafted rookie out of Kansas, Grimm is still looking for a chance to make his regular-season or playoff debut.
The Chargers released Grimm from the practice squad Tuesday. Grimm was re-signed to the practice squad Nov. 12 due to the injuries to starting wide receivers Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston. With the Chargers' wide receiver room in good health, the need for Grimm appears to have diminished. The wide receiver's release was coordinated with the release of tackle David Sharpe to make room for center Josh Kaltenberger and tackle Foster Sarell on the practice squad.
