The Patriots waived Lang on Monday, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports. Lang bounced between practice squads for the Seahawks and Patriots throughout his rookie year as an undrafted free agent. The tight end was not elevated to the active roster by either team throughout the year and still is waiting to suit up for his first NFL game. Lang now will be subject to the waiver process, and if he clears the 24-hour span without being claimed, he will become a free agent. Lang once again may reunite with New England ahead of training camp if he isn't claimed by another team.

Marshall Lang: Breaking News
Inks deal with Patriots
Lang signed a reserve/future contract with the Patriots on Tuesday. The 24-year-old joined the Patriots' practice squad in late December after being dropped from Seattle's practice squad in mid-November. Lang went undrafted out of Northwestern in 2025, catching 11 passes for 115 yards and one touchdown during his final collegiate season. After inking a new deal with New England, he'll get a chance to compete for a spot on the active roster in camp.
Signs with New England
The Patriots signed Lang to the practice squad Tuesday. Lang was cut from the Seahawks' practice squad in mid-November and has not joined a team since. The tight end will bolster a Patriots tight-end room that has only three active players. If Hunter Henry, Austin Hooper or CJ Dippre were to go down, Lang would be a candidate for elevation to the active roster for Week 18 or a playoff game.
