Burton visited the Browns on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Burton spent the 2025 season on injured reserve and is now 34 years old. With new coach Todd Monken likely implementing a fullback into his offense with the Browns, Burton could be a candidate for a job at some point.

Placed on IR

Burton was placed on injured reserve by the Broncos on Tuesday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official website reports. Burton suffered a hamstring injury during training camp, and he will now be forced to miss the entirety of the 2025 campaign as a result of being on IR. The fullback would be eligible to return to action this season if he reached an injury settlement with Denver, otherwise he'll shift his focus to 2026.

Has hamstring injury

Burton has a hamstring injury, head coach Sean Payton said Thursday, Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post reports. Burton has been sidelined in practice throughout August due to a previously undisclosed injury, which has now been clarified as a hamstring injury. Once healthy, he isn't expected to face competition for the team's fullback role.
