RJ Harvey: Breaking News

Grinds out 59 total yards in loss

Harvey rushed 13 times for 37 yards and brought in four of six targets for 22 yards in the Broncos' 10-7 loss to the Patriots in Sunday's AFC Championship Game. Harvey unsurprisingly found running room at a premium against a tough Patriots defense and weather conditions that deteriorated as the game went on. However, the rookie put together a couple of productive runs and also made significant contributions as a receiver, finishing tied with Marvin Mims for the team lead in receptions and targets. Harvey put together an encouraging rookie season that saw him handle the lead-back role down the stretch in the absence of J.K. Dobbins (IR, foot), and he lines up to continue helming the Broncos backfield in 2026.

Makes mark as receiver

Harvey rushed six times for 20 yards and brought in five of six targets for 46 yards in the Broncos' 33-30 divisional-round overtime win over the Bills on Saturday. Harvey wasn't given many opportunities to take advantage of what had been a vulnerable Bills run defense, with his carry total serving as his lowest since Week 10, when J.K. Dobbins (IR-foot) was still serving as the Broncos' lead back. However, Harvey did make an impact as a receiver, finishing with the second-most receptions and third-most receiving yards and targets on the afternoon for the Broncos. Harvey will next turn his attention to an AFC Championship Game matchup Sunday, Jan. 25 against either the Texans or Patriots, a game Denver will have to navigate without Bo Nix, who suffered a broken ankle in overtime Saturday.

Struggles with 16 touches

Harvey was held to 28 yards on 15 carries while catching one of four targets for five yards in Sunday's 19-3 win over the Chargers. Harvey was bottled up from the get-go Sunday, averaging less than 2.0 yards per carry while failing to make an impact as a receiver. The rookie's poor performance was compounded by his inability to extend the five-game scoring streak he entered the contest with. Harvey put together a strong fantasy campaign with 896 combined yards from scrimmage and 12 total touchdowns across 17 games. The 2025 second-round pick started the year as a backup and took over for J.K. Dobbins (knee) as the starter in Week 11 after the latter was placed on injured reserve. Harvey should continue leading Denver's backfield when the AFC's No. 1 seed resumes play in the divisional round of the playoffs.
