Wil Lutz Latest News
Finishes excellent regular season
Lutz finished the 2023 regular season with 31 total field goals made on 34 attempts while connecting on all 49 of his extra-point tries. Lutz had his best statistical season in Denver in 2024. The veteran kicker finished the season with a 91 percent field goal percentage, the second-highest mark of his career. Lutz remains under contract in 2025 before becoming an unrestricted free agent in 2026. Looking ahead to the 2025 season, the 30-year-old will look to build off the momentum of a stellar 2024 campaign as a key contributor to Denver's success.
Perfect in season finale
Lutz made his only field-goal attempt, from 33 yards, and all five of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 38-0 win over the Chiefs. The veteran capped off a regular season in which he hit all 46 extra-point attempts and 31-of-34 field-goal tries. Now, he'll get a chance to kick for Denver in the playoffs as the franchise breaks an eight-year postseason drought with a wild-card matchup against the Bills on Sunday.
Hits lone field-goal attempt
Lutz made his only field-goal attempt and converted all three of his extra-point tries during the Broncos' 30-24 overtime loss to the Bengals on Saturday. Lutz opened the scoring Saturday with a 30-yard field goal early in the first quarter to give the Broncos the early lead. The veteran kicker has been perfect over his last six games and has missed just three field-goal attempts for the season. Lutz will need to be on form in Cincinnati's must-win game against Kansas City in Week 18.
Stays perfect vs. Chargers
Lutz made both field goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries during Thursday's 34-27 defeat to the Chargers. Lutz kept his field-goal streak going against the Chargers, nailing both of his attempts and tacking on three XPAs. The veteran boot has been a consistent option for Denver so far this season, providing some relief in games where the offense hasn't gotten going like in the second half versus Los Angeles. He's now converted 29 of 32 field-goal attempts and hasn't missed a kick since Week 10.
Steady in win
Lutz made his only field-goal try and converted all four of his extra-point attempts during Sunday's 31-13 win versus the Colts. Lutz only got one opportunity to kick a field goal in Week 15, but he was true from 44 yards out in the third quarter to cut Indianapolis' lead to 13-10. He's tied for sixth in the league in made field goals this season heading into a Week 16 tilt against the Chargers.
Perfect streak continues
Lutz made both of his field-goal attempts while also converting all five of his extra-point tries in Monday's 41-32 win over the Browns. Lutz remained perfect Monday, connecting on field goals from 27 and 36 yards out against Cleveland. With the Broncos able to find the end zone five times in the contest, the veteran kicker matched a season high in extra-point tries, making all five of his attempts. After another solid performance, Lutz has now made 89.7 percent of his field goals this season. The 30-year-old will look to extend his three-game streak of 20 consecutive made kicks when the Broncos return from their Week 14 bye to square off against the Colts on Dec. 15.
Perfect once again
Lutz made all five of his field-goal attempts while also converting on both of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 29-19 win over the Raiders. Lutz had his best game of the 2024 campaign Sunday, accounting for 17 of the Broncos' 29 points against the Raiders. The veteran kicker saw ample opportunities due to Denver's offense stalling in scoring range multiple times throughout the contest. With his impressive performance in Week 12, Lutz has now connected on 89 percent of his field goals this season, ranking him among the league's most accurate kickers. The 30-year-old will look to keep his perfect streak going in Week 13 when the Broncos host the Browns.
Makes on field goal
Lutz made his lone field-goal attempt while also converting all five of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 38-6 win over the Falcons. Lutz was perfect on kicks against Atlanta, but the Broncos ability to finish drives with touchdowns limited the veteran's potential for a bigger day for fantasy purposes. The 30-year-old connected on his only field goal from 45 yards out in the fourth quarter, bringing his field-goal percentage to 86 percent so far for the 2024 campaign. Lutz will look to improve upon that number in Week 12 when the Broncos visit the Raiders in Week 12.
Potential game winner blocked
Lutz did not convert on either of his two field-goal tries but made both of his two extra-point attempts during Sunday's 16-14 loss at Kansas City. In a game decided by just two points, Lutz converting on just one of his field-goal attempts could have made the difference. It's hard to pin too much blame on him though, as his 60-yard try at the end of the half came up just short, and what would have been a game-winning 35-yarder at the end of the second half was blocked by Leo Chenal. He'll be looking to bounce back in Week 11 versus the Falcons.
