Super Bowl LV Preview

Tom Brady has a legendary resume that some would argue is the best of all-time. However, what Brady’s done this year might be his most impressive feat yet, changing teams in the offseason and leading the Buccaneers — a team that missed the playoffs a year ago —  to the Super Bowl.

Brady is 43, but still feels like he has some left in the tank.

“It’s a physical sport, and the perspective I have on that is that you never know when that moment is,” Brady said. “It’s a contact sport, there’s a lot of training that goes into it. It has to be a 100 percent commitment from myself to keep doing it. I’ve been very fortunate over the years. (Trainer) Alex (Guerrero) and I work really hard at making sure physically I can still perform at my best. You take different hits, over the course of the year deal with different bumps and bruises, different injuries. It’s going to be me continuing to make that commitment to making it part of my year-round process to play football and continue my career.”

Brady might be the current GOAT — greatest of all-time — but Mahomes is making a case that he could catch him, making it to his second Super Bowl before registering his 10th loss in the NFL. But this could be Mahomes’ last chance to face Brady in the Super Bowl.

“Well, I think I’m just so impressed with Pat as a young player,” Brady said. “There’s one thing about the physical skill but there’s also how endearing he is to his teammates. I can see there’s a special quality about him that attracts the teammates to him. He’s a great leader. He has great charisma. He just has everything it takes.”

Tampa Bay has home field for the Super Bowl — the first time that has happened in NFL history. However, Brady’s Bucs are 3-point underdogs to Mahomes and the Chiefs for the Super Bowl matchup.

While the matchup between the two high-flying offenses is fun to talk about, some unfortunate news came across on Friday when it was reported that Britt Reid, the Chiefs outside linebackers coach and son of head coach Andy Reid, was involved in a car crash. A Kansas City Police Department officer said Reid’s eyes were bloodshot and the officer smelled “a moderate odor of alcoholic beverages.”

“The organization has been made aware of a multi-vehicle accident involving Outside Linebackers Coach, Britt Reid,” the Chiefs said in a statement Friday. “We are in the process of gathering information, and we will have no further comment at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved.”
